The portraiture of today is your family’s legacy of tomorrow.
Working with an experienced and talented artist to create your artwork will bring a value to the life of your family that can only fully reveal itself over time. Mark has a special gift for connecting with children and capturing the cherished moments and fleeting expressions that bring joy to you and your family.
By choosing Halper Fine Art, you will be working with one of the only portraitists that photographs families who is also an acknowledged and respected fine art photographer in his own right. Your artwork will benefit from his personal expertise in lighting, composition and posing cultivated over decades of experience in commercial and fine art photography that is unrivaled amongst virtually any other family portrait studio.
Because vision and skill are important, we believe that working with the very best individual photographer is the most important single aspect of a successful session and great artwork.
You deserve to work with an accomplished photographer who has been trusted by clients that include Samsung, Johnson & Johnson. FedEx, Cedars-Sinai, Sony, and many others.
For that reason, we have limited our capacity so that every client is personally photographed by Mark, enabling him to bring the individual expertise and vision to your portraiture that have made him the portraitist of choice to photograph many of the most prestigious people in their fields, including Frank Gehry, Wolfgang Puck, Sumner Redstone, Bill Gates, Erin Brockovitch, and even Mr. T!
Enjoy the accolades and the satisfaction that accompany having your portrait created by a highly respected fine artist.
We love the pictures. The whole experience was a total joy!

THE LEGACY OF JENNIFER HALPER
Jennifer Halper worked hand-in-hand with Mark to create Halper Fine Art for over 15 years before unexpectedly passing away in February of 2023.
It was her artistry that elevated Mark’s photography to its true potential.
Jennifer spent seven years on Academy Award winning visual effects teams. You’ve seen her work in the first three Spiderman movies, Superman Returns, The Chronicles of Narnia, and many other major motion pictures. Jen loves to travel and lived in Japan for five years, where she received her MFA, and even spent a year abroad in Soviet Georgia. Jen worked with Mark for 14 years during which they ran Halper Fine Art together, and retouching and enhancing Mark’s photography to create the work for which HFA became respected and known.
When not working hard into the evening, Jen could be found dancing on ice, attending a class at Cirque School, or traveling with Mark. She is deeply missed, and her legacy and standards live on in the standards and aesthetic she set and the artists she personally trained to work with us.
Inch by inch, every aspect of your portraiture is closely examined and painstakingly enhanced by hand to remove blemishes, contour bodies, bring out expressions, address stray hairs, correct clothing issues, and present you in a way so that the final result is both strikingly beautiful and entirely natural.
There is no middle ground when it comes to excellence. I put my entire heart into every client.
A great portrait should be visually compelling, well composed, beautifully lit, and it must capture something of the soul that touches the heart.
I feel gratified to be able to create artwork that will be cherished long past my own lifetime.
